After the Warriors beat down on the Spurs a couple of days ago, I listened to ESPN’s Zach Lowe host Brian Windhorst yesterday. They agreed that the Warriors were in a different league in terms of how they can shapeshift to beat any line-up and talked about how they can always target the weakest defender on the opposing team. Against the Spurs that was Tony Parker.
The only thing they did bring up (apart from the fact it was a home game for the Warriors) was the possibility of Pop pulling his starters really early (and not playing Duncan) in a bit of an act of smoke and mirror defiance. There is no doubt that the Warriors are the best team in the league, but there is the possibility as well that both the Spurs and Warriors end the season unbeaten at home.
With the Dysfunction in Cleveland and the Blake Griffin saga in LA, you would have to say that aside from a (very possible) Herculean effort by KD and Russ the Spurs are still the best shot to break down this Warriors monster.
So bring it on!
On to GPs best bets
8 for 8 on head to heads yesterday and another 3 for 3 on the best bets netted me some good money. James said he multied up yesterday too.
A few back to backs today (Suns, 76ers, Thunder and Mavericks). The Clippers are playing their 5th in 7 nights when they travel to Atlanta to play the Hawks.
Detroit vs Philadelphia
The 76ers have been playing pretty well today (by their standards) They are 3 and 2 in their last 5 and have averaged 105.6 point per game over that period. The Pistons average 104.9 at home. I think the total of 202.5 could be too low in this one.
Pick: Over 202.5
Utah vs Charlotte
Watching the Hornets light it up from behind the arch vs the Kings made me realise that these guys can score. Without some key starters it is the other end I worry about. The Jazz are thought to be a defensive minded low scoring team but going up against a team who may struggle to stop Favors, Haywood and the crew might see them not have too many issues on that end.
Pick: Over 191
Golden State vs Dallas
With the Mavericks on a back to back and playing games in the next 6 nights, I expect their may be some rest going on in a game that they do not expect to win. The gap between the scoreline in this could be quite large.
Pick: Warriors -13.5
