NBA bets – A close one coming in Dallas
Golden State at Washington
GP: The Wizards are 2 – 8 in the last 10 games and you can’t get a favourite tag against the Warriors with that type of record.
Rob: Golden State had a bit of a whoopsie in Indiana a couple of days ago. The grizzlies have been struggling too in the absence of Beal, and while they may be able to keep up on the perimeter with John Wall guarding Curry the bigs will have their work cut out down low guarding the inside out game the Warriors can play. GSW win.
Cleveland at Detroit
GP: The Cavs are 8 – 2 in their last 10 with a points differential of +12.3. Their last 5 games record is even stronger. They are 4 – 1 with a points differential of +15.2. That means Detroit do not have much of a chance in this one.
Rob: Detroit has snuck up into contention for a playoff spot, but while the other teams at the top of the table have taken a couple of losses (Grizzlies excepted) the Cavs have rolled on. I can see Detroit getting to the 7th or 8th seed but I can’t see them beating Lebron today
Indiana at Oklahoma City
GP: The Thunder have won 6 straight, their new recruits look like they are fitting in pretty well and Russell Westbrook is playing just about as good as anyone in the league right now. Their home record is good (18.8) too. The Pacers aren’t doing so bad themselves right now they are 4 – 1 in their last 5, 7 – 3 in their last 10 and are now well and truly in the hunt for an Eastern Conference playoff spot. That’s not good enough to catch them up to get the predicted win but it’s pretty good.
Rob: ESPN.com is reporting that it is likely Kevin Durant will be back before the end of the regular season. In the meantime we have to put up with Enes Kanter feeding of the Westbrook energy and going out of his mind! Man, I really thought they would get Brooke Lopez and I thought it was a good idea… On the other hand Indy has beaten the league leaders and gone for 3 straight sot for me it is a Thunder win but a game they need.
If this doesn’t sum things up…
Toronto at Dallas
GP: All of the calculations are all close on this one
Dallas at home – .680
Toronto away – .615
Dallas – 3 – 2
Toronto – 3 – 2
Dallas – 7 – 3
Toronto – 6 – 4
It all adds up to Dallas having a slight advantage
Rob: Loving this tight game GP! The Raptors are on a back to back after a tough loss and the Mavs are at home after a days rest following a win. Expect the Raptors to be up for this but it will be a tough one to halt this mini-skid. I am taking Dallas by a nose.
Cricket World Cup – Gayle forced win…
Again NBA viewers, look away now….
With the Cricket World Cup tossing up a possibly interesting mid week game there were some discussions around how seriously the West Indies were taking the tournament and could Gayle get out of his funk. Questions answered and then some. Congrats on a great knock CG.
